Biden promises 'ironclad' support to Israel in event of Iranian attack
President of the United States of America Joe Biden has promised to provide support to Israel in the event of an attack by Iran, informs Bild.
During a conversation with journalists, Biden stated that Iran threatens Israel with a "serious attack."
"As I told Prime Minister Netanyahu, our commitment to Israel’s security against these threats from Iran and its proxies is ironclad. Let me say it again: ironclad. We’re going to do all we can to protect Israel’s security," said the President of the United States.
Escalation between Israel and Iran
On April 1st, a rocket strike in Damascus, Syria, completely destroyed the building of the Iranian consulate. At least seven Iranians were killed, including two generals.
Despite Israel's repeated strikes on Iran-related targets in Syria over the past few months, this was the first time the IDF targeted an Iranian diplomatic building.
Iran officially blamed Israel for the attack and promised a "harsh" response. On April 4th, the CIA warned that within 48 hours Iran might launch a military operation against Israel.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that his country will defend itself and act on the principle: "Whoever harms us or plans to harm us, we will harm them."
