Israel will be able to defend itself and will act according to a simple principle: whoever attacks the country or plans to attack will suffer themselves, stated Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

According to him, Iran has been working against Israel for years, both directly and through various influence factors.

"We will know how to defend ourselves and we will act according to the simple principle of whoever harms us or plans to harm us, we will harm them," Netanyahu said.

The CIA recently warned that within 48 hours Iran may begin a military operation against Israel. The CIA believes that the destruction of the Iranian consulate in Syria, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of high-ranking Iranian officials and generals, risks escalating into a major war in the region.

Escalation between Israel and Iran

On Monday, April 1, Israel launched a missile strike on the Syrian capital Damascus. As a result of the attack, the building of the Iranian consulate was completely destroyed. One of the casualties in the attack was senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps commander Mohammad Reza Zahedi.

Following the incident, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced a reservist call-up to strengthen its air defense system.

The IDF has not been the first to strike Syrian territory. For instance, in December, the Israeli army eliminated senior advisor to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, Sayyed Razi Musavi.
