Biden intends to discuss support for Ukraine with leaders of G7 countries
US President Joe Biden will hold talks with the leaders of the G7 countries tomorrow, December 13. The main topic of discussion will be support for Ukraine, states White House Communications Adviser John Kirby.
As Kirby noted, the talks between the G7 leaders will take place in an online format.
"They will discuss a range of issues: our shared support to Ukraine," he added.
At the same time, Kirby did not specify the exact topics to be discussed by the leaders. He only reminded that the talks will take place following the US decision to allocate a $20 billion loan to Ukraine.
20 billion dollars for Ukraine
On December 10, the US Department of the Treasury announced the allocation of a $20 billion loan to Ukraine. It will be repaid using profits from frozen Russian assets.
The funds were transferred to the Financial Intermediary Fund to facilitate resource mobilization to strengthen Ukraine, through which they will be made available to Ukraine.
This aid is part of the US contribution to a $50 billion loan for Ukraine from the G7.
