US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is a real threat to American security, according to current US President Joe Biden.

During the conversation, he says that if Trump wins the 2024 presidential election, it will be necessary to monitor what is happening.

"We're at an inflection point in world history, we really are," Biden says.

According to him, the decisions his administration has made in the last three to four years and the decisions that will be made in the next three to four years will determine what the next six decades will look like.

"Democracy is the key," the US President concludes.

This was Biden's first interview since he decided not to seek re-election for a second term.

US election

This year, the US presidential election will be held on 5 November. The newly elected head of state and vice president will take office on 20 January 2025 after the inauguration.

The main contenders for the presidency are Republican Donald Trump and US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.

Both confirmed that they will participate in the debate on ABC News on 10 September, although Trump insisted on holding the debate on Fox News. The Republican's demands came after Biden dropped out of the race.
