Ukraine is preparing to include manufacturers of armored vehicles, drones, and even missiles in the "Danish model." This approach has already proven effective and is now being scaled up to strengthen the country’s defense capabilities, according to a statement from Serhii Prolubshchykov, head of the Ground Equipment Office at the Defense Procurement Agency.

According to Prolubshchykov, the "Danish model" is currently working effectively. He said the Defense Procurement Agency is now negotiating several more projects with other domestic equipment manufacturers who want to join the initiative.

The head of the Ground Equipment Office at the DPA noted that every day, more and more Ukrainian producers are ready to open their facilities, showcase their capabilities, and participate in the "Danish model."

"Shortly, we plan to bring in manufacturers of specialized armored vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and even some missile producers. This is a very promising area that is developing rapidly. With the support of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff, the agency is accelerating contract signings under the 'Danish model,'" he assured.

Weapons production in Ukraine

Ukraine has increased weapons production during the war. Besides domestic companies, weapons for Ukraine are also produced in partner countries through joint ventures.

Foreign companies are also opening branches in Ukraine. For example, the German defense giant Rheinmetall plans to build three factories in the country.

Ukrainian companies manufacture drones, armored vehicles, artillery, ammunition, and other weapons. Additionally, Ukraine has intensified its missile program.

Recently, the Ministry of Defense’s Defense Procurement Agency introduced an updated drone procurement model for the Armed Forces of Ukraine designed to stimulate the domestic market by fostering competition, establishing clear rules, and enabling better production planning.
