French PSG winger Ousmane Dembélé was the star of the prestigious Globe Soccer Awards 2025 ceremony. In the race for the title of best footballer of the year, he outpaced star competitors, including Lamin Yamal and Harry Kane.
RBC-Ukraine reported the results of the awards ceremony, which took place on Sunday, December 28, in Dubai.
Dembélé’s Absolute Success
For the club teammate of Ukrainian player Illia Zabarnyi, this year has been truly “golden.” The Frenchman not only won his first Globe Soccer Awards trophy but also completed the full set of the planet’s major individual awards. Earlier, he was named the best by the Ballon d’Or organizers, and the 28-year-old forward also triumphed at the 2025 The Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony.
In the past year, the talented winger helped PSG secure a historic Champions League victory and claim the French league title. Dembélé showcased incredible scoring form, netting 35 goals in 53 matches.
In the voting, the Frenchman surpassed 24 contenders, including Barcelona’s young star Lamin Yamal, Bayern striker Harry Kane, and his former teammate Gianluigi Donnarumma.
It is worth noting that among PSG players, only Kylian Mbappé had previously won this award, in 2021.
Triumph for Lamin Yamal and Aitana Bonmatí
Despite losing the main category, 18-year-old Spaniard Lamin Yamal did not leave empty-handed. The reigning European champion won in two categories: he was named best forward of the year and received the special Diego Maradona Award for outstanding talent and technique.
The best female footballer of 2025 was the Spanish player Aitana Bonmatí. The Barcelona star confirmed her status as a world football leader, also winning the Ballon d’Or and FIFA’s The Best award this year.
