Belgium's King Philippe I refused to accept the resignation of Prime Minister Bart De Wever, the Belgian monarchy reported.

The monarch decided to reject the prime minister's resignation following a meeting with the leaders of five political parties that form the majority in the Belgian government.

All party leaders confirmed their intention to complete the budget process as soon as possible and agree on a stable financial plan for the country for the next three years.

"The King also received a formal commitment from the five party leaders that they are ready to make concessions to reach an agreement within the government. The King emphasized the importance of striking the right balance between maintaining social cohesion and stimulating economic growth," the statement said.

King Philippe I asked De Wever to urgently resume consultations with his political partners.

Following the negotiations, the prime minister is expected to personally report to the monarch on the results achieved on November 16.

On November 2, Belgium's King Philippe received Bart De Wever for an audience, during which the prime minister formally announced his resignation following the failure of budget negotiations.

De Wever also recently stated that the European Commission does not plan to propose new mechanisms for using frozen Russian assets to finance Ukraine's needs.
