Ballistic strike on Poltava: Investigation launched by State Bureau of Investigation
The State Bureau of Investigation has opened a criminal case regarding the missile strike on a training center in Poltava on Tuesday, September 3, according to the sources of RBC-Ukraine in law enforcement agencies.
Sources told RBC-Ukraine that a criminal case has been initiated.
The specific article under which the case was opened is not yet known.
What happened before
On September 3 at 09:08 a.m., an air raid alert was declared in Poltava and the region, and just two minutes later, at 09:10 a.m., two explosions were heard. Monitoring channels had warned about a missile. There was no official information about the consequences. Local media reported a need for blood donors but later asked people not to create queues. An operational headquarters was set up at the site of the strike.
Later, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that Russia had struck a Poltava educational institution with two ballistic missiles, partially destroying one of the buildings of the Communication Institute. It is currently known that 41 people were killed and 180 others injured.
