Azerbaijan says it is ready to supply gas to Ukraine

Azerbaijan currently supplies natural gas to 16 countries worldwide, including 13 European countries and 10 EU member states. It would also be "happy" to supply gas to Ukraine if the necessary system is put in place, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov said during a briefing in Kyiv.
"I believe there is also an opportunity for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine in the field of energy security, particularly within the project you mentioned regarding the use of Ukrainian gas storage facilities for gas supplies in a broader geographical context. We also see this as a very promising area for our future cooperation," he said.
In response, acting Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha noted that Azerbaijani businesses have always maintained a strong presence in Ukraine and that Kyiv would welcome further expansion of that presence.
"We have a package of proposals for our Azerbaijani friends. We are interested in diversifying energy supplies to Ukraine," Sybiha stressed.
Ukraine is planning to partially resume exports of domestically produced natural gas, which have been banned since the start of the war. A draft resolution has already been prepared, but the final decision is yet to be made by the authorities.
According to the Energy Ministry's projected natural gas supply and distribution balance for the 2026/2027 season, Ukraine aims to accumulate 14.6 billion cubic meters of gas in storage before the start of winter.
Earlier, RBC-Ukraine reported that gas suppliers had published their tariffs for August. For most household consumers, natural gas prices will remain unchanged.
