Austria warns: Russia’s battlefield losses in Ukraine about to surge

The Kremlin is finding it increasingly difficult to continue its war against Ukraine for several reasons, including heavy losses and a catastrophic economic situation, states Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger.
"One thing is clear: Ukraine wants peace, but Russia does not. If Putin were truly interested in peace, he would begin ceasefire negotiations right now," she stated.
According to Austria's top diplomat, former US President Donald Trump served Crimea to Putin on a silver platter and also ruled out Ukraine’s NATO membership. Nevertheless, Putin continues waging a war of destruction.
"Russia is suffering enormous losses. At some point, the coffins will start piling up. Add to that the catastrophic state of the economy. The Kremlin is finding it harder and harder to sustain this war," she added.
Meinl-Reisinger also noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin knows he is running out of time, which is why he is pursuing the war with such brutal intensity.
Other statements by Beate Meinl-Reisinger
Earlier, Austria’s Foreign Minister also called for open debates about the possibility of her country joining NATO.
She explained that neutrality no longer guarantees Austria’s security.
Meinl-Reisinger added that Austria has already, in practice, moved away from the traditional concept of neutrality and is making a significant contribution to Europe's security in the face of the Russian threat.
