Australian sanctions against Russia
Australia imposed financial sanctions and travel bans on seven Russian prison employees after Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny died in custody. The sanctions are said to be part of the Australian government's steps to hold those responsible for Navalny's death accountable.
Earlier, on February 24, Australia introduced additional targeted financial sanctions and visa bans on 55 individuals, as well as financial restrictions against 37 organizations associated with Kremlin aggression. In particular, the sanctions apply to those involved in the deportation of Ukrainian children from temporarily occupied territories of the country.
