Intense positional fighting continues in the Dronivka area in Donetsk. Russian forces are attempting to cross the Siverskyi Donets River and break through the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ defenses, according to a statement from the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade of the 7th Rapid Response Corps of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces.
According to the military, the enemy is actively amassing forces and resources in the area of the Serebryanske Forestry and the city of Siversk.
A particular threat comes from the deployment of a large number of UAV command posts, which complicates logistics and the movement of Ukrainian units near Dronivka.
The main focus of the enemy’s efforts is crossing the Siverskyi Donets River.
Crossings are carried out over frozen sections, mostly at night. Small infantry groups operate under drone cover, use anti-thermal cloaks, and advance through forested areas and terrain folds.
Upon approaching populated areas, the enemy moves to assault actions, but encounters prepared defenses and organized resistance from the paratroopers holding designated lines.
The 81st Air Assault Brigade continues to contain the enemy’s offensive potential in the Sloviansk direction, inflicting losses and preventing any breakthrough of the defenses.

Situation in the Sloviansk direction
The Dronivka and Serebryanske Forestry areas remain one of the key defensive positions in the Sloviansk direction, where the enemy has repeatedly attempted to improve its tactical position.
Earlier, the military reported the active use of small infantry groups and drones by the Russian army for reconnaissance and assaults.
On January 24, Russian forces attacked Sloviansk in Donetsk using FPV drones. Two teenagers, aged 16 and 17, were injured as a result of the strike.
Specifically, during the day on December 28, the enemy carried out three airstrikes on Sloviansk. The private sector came under fire, leaving three civilians injured and one person killed.
Additionally, on December 6, the Russian army dropped an aerial bomb on the city. The attack damaged nearly ten residential buildings and vehicles, and six local residents were injured.
