Russia fired 1,100 missiles at Ukraine's energy system in 2024 – UN Ambassador Kyslytsya
According to the Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the United Nations Sergiy Kyslytsya, Russia used about 1,100 missiles against Ukraine's energy system in 2024.
“Last Friday’s strike was the 12th carried out by Russia against our energy infrastructure in 2024 alone. For these strikes, Russia used about 1,100 missiles, both cruise and ballistic ones. I reiterate, this is the number of missiles launched against energy facilities only,” Kyslytsya said during a meeting of the UN Security Council.
He added that Russian militants continued to use munitions containing toxic chemicals. Since February 2023 alone, 4.95 thousand incidents have been recorded, resulting in more than two thousand Ukrainian soldiers being injured.
“Guided aerial bombs are among the deadliest. In just one week, Russia launched almost 500 guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian positions as well as residential areas of Ukrainian cities,” he added.
Shelling of Ukraine
During the full-scale war waged by Russia against Ukraine, rocket and artillery attacks have become an element of terrorist aggression. Russia is massively using cruise and ballistic missiles, kamikaze drones, and artillery to attack military targets, critical infrastructure, and civilians.
On December 13, Russia launched another massive attack on Ukraine. The Ukrainian energy sector came under attack again.
