Partisan group ATESH carried out another successful sabotage operation behind enemy lines. An electric locomotive was destroyed at the railway hub in the city of Oryol, according to ATESH.
The partisan movement reported that their agents disabled critically important equipment on a VL80 mainline freight electric locomotive through arson. In doing so, ATESH disrupted Russian logistics along the Sumy axis.
"This electric locomotive will go nowhere. Russia’s supply chain has taken another hit. While they search for a replacement, shells and equipment will not reach the front on time," the publication stated.
According to the partisans, the VL80 is a heavy freight locomotive used on Russian railways to transport multi-ton military echelons.
"The destroyed unit was actively used to move equipment, ammunition, and fuel from the rear to border zones of Russia to reinforce the troops operating on the Sumy axis," ATESH stated.
Other ATESH sabotage operations
On January 21, the partisan movement reported a successful sabotage on the railway in the Belgorod region, destroying a relay cabinet. This action halted ammunition echelons for the Russian North group operating in the Kharkiv direction.
Additionally, on January 18, an agent disabled equipment at an electrical substation in the industrial zone of Volodarsky district, Bryansk region. This substation powers the Polpinskaya station, through which echelons carrying ammunition and military equipment move to the front.
