On Sunday evening, August 24, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on Sumy. The city experienced at least 10 strikes, Oleh Hryhorov, Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reports.

“The Sumy community has suffered a massive attack by strike drones. The enemy carried out, preliminarily, 10 strikes on the community’s territory. Fortunately, there are no casualties,” Hryhorov wrote.

The Head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration clarified that all hits were in the Kovpakivskyi district of Sumy, outside the residential area.

At present, emergency crews are working to eliminate the consequences and inspect the damage.

Shelling of Sumy

Russian forces regularly shell the Sumy region and the city of Sumy, using drones, missiles, and aerial bombs.

This was also the case today, during the night of August 24. The city was loud amid the drone strike attack.

Earlier, on the night of August 19, Russians hit a residential building with a drone in the Pishchanskyi starosta district of the Sumy community. The strike caused a fire.
