Zelenskyy–Trump meeting in Florida on December 28

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with US President Donald Trump in the United States on December 28, holding talks at the White House’s residence in Florida, Mar-a-Lago.

The key topics were a potential peace settlement with Russia, including Donbas (territorial issues), the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and security guarantees for Ukraine.

Following the meeting, it emerged that the Donbas issue remains unresolved, though the sides have moved closer to a solution, as Trump said at a press conference.

On the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant, the US president said Moscow had made concessions, noting that Russia was no longer bombing the facility and calling this progress.

Zelenskyy said the peace plan is now 90% complete, while security guarantees have been finalized in full.

Trump also announced the creation of a US working group that will engage with Russia, comprising senior figures from American politics.
