North Korean soldiers are quickly adapting to the current warfare. Currently, around 1,000 North Korean soldiers undergo training with new military equipment in Russia, Vadym Skibitskyi, Deputy Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, says in an interview with The Chosun.

“North Korean soldiers are fast learners, adapting to modern combat tactics and strategies in just a few months,” Skibitsky stated.

According to the Deputy Chief of Ukraine's Intelligence, the combat effectiveness of the North Korean military has improved dramatically - not only with conventional weapons like tanks but also with advanced systems such as drones.

North Korea’s involvement in war against Ukraine

Last year, North Korea sent its military forces to Russia to participate in the war against Ukraine. North Korean soldiers are engaged in battles in the Kursk region.

According to data from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, by early February, North Korea lost about 4,000 soldiers in the Kursk region. Furthermore, as NHK reported, North Korea has been receiving technical assistance from Russia to develop several types of drones for mass production.

Kyrylo Budanov, Chief of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine, also noted that North Korea’s involvement in the war against Ukraine poses a serious threat to the security system in the Asia-Pacific region.
