A meeting of the technological Staff will soon take place. In particular, issues will be discussed there on how to increase funding for the purchase of military weapons, according to Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).

"One of the instruments is to launch controlled arms exports, which will become one of the sources of budget replenishment for defense procurement," Umerov said.

According to him, only what is in surplus and has free production capacity will be exported. The priority remains maintaining the potential for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and ensuring the security of supplies.

"Expecting a detailed report from the government, the Ministry of Defense, military leadership, and intelligence with a clear algorithm for launching controlled arms exports: when, in what volumes, and by what mechanisms," he noted.

Separately, the latest Russian attack on infrastructure will be considered. The Ministry of Energy and the Air Force will report on the state of the energy system and the protection of facilities.

"We will also consider our responses to the enemy – long-range operations," Umerov added.

Arms export

Previously, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine is preparing agreements on controlled arms exports. The head of state also emphasized that the export of some types of surplus weapons could provide Ukraine with additional funds for the production of scarce systems.

In addition, besides Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, countries in Africa are also actively interested in Ukrainian weapons.
