Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict
The conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the Nagorno-Karabakh region began in 1988, with a ceasefire established only in May 1994.
In September 2023, Azerbaijan launched an "anti-terrorist operation" in Nagorno-Karabakh, regaining control over the region.
As of September 2024, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that Armenia and Azerbaijan had agreed on 13 points of a peace treaty, with two additional points partially agreed upon.
In June 2025, Pashinyan said Armenia expects to sign a peace agreement with Azerbaijan by the end of the year.
