Ukrainian troops are currently fighting on the outskirts of Toretsk, Donetsk region. There are no occupants in the city, according to Nazar Voloshyn, spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops.

"The situation in this area has not changed significantly. Russia is conducting hostilities on the outskirts of the city. There are no Russian troops in the city," says the spokesperson.

However, according to Voloshyn, the Russian occupants are actively using aviation, in particular, UAVs and unguided aerial missiles, against this settlement.

"Over the past day alone, Russians conducted more than 200 attacks in this direction, including in the area of Toretsk, using various types of weapons. Moreover, 24 Russian attacks took place there yesterday - Pivnichne, New York, Toretsk, and Deliivka," the military continues.

Voloshyn notes that Russia intends to enter the city and take control of it.

"However, the Ukrainian Defense Forces are doing their best, giving an adequate response to the enemy. Russia suffered losses in this area - more than 40 personnel, several howitzers, and a vehicle. However, the final estimates will be available at the end of the day," the spokesperson summarizes.

Situation in Toretsk sector

On the morning of July 11, the Russian occupants advanced in the Toretsk sector, near Avdiivka in the Donetsk region, Donetsk, and Kreminna in the Luhansk region.

Russians' activation in the Toretsk sector was reported in late June. At that time, the Ukrainian military notes that the enemy had intensified its activity in the Horlivka-Toretsk area, intending to approach Toretsk.

As the expert notes in a commentary for RBC-Ukraine, the Russian invaders are probably trying to threaten Klishchiivka with these actions, so the threat to Toretsk itself has also increased.
