Armed Forces confirm elimination of occupants that shot Ukrainian military near Avdiivka
The Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed information about the elimination of Russian occupiers who shot Ukrainian military personnel in the Avdiivka direction. A criminal case has also been initiated regarding this crime, according to the spokesperson of the Unified Press Center of the Defense Forces of the Tavria direction Oleksandr Shtupun, on a telethon.
"Yes, this fact has been recorded by relevant services. A criminal case has been initiated, and the investigation is ongoing. The corresponding materials will be handed over to international institutions dealing with war crimes. I can also confirm that during further military actions, the group of Russian occupiers who committed this crime ceased to exist," Shtupun stated.
On a clarifying question about what is known about these occupiers, he said it is currently unknown which military unit of the Russian army committed this crime.
"We do not know which unit it is because the fighting is still ongoing," added the spokesperson.
What is known about the shooting
On December 2, a video appeared online showing two Ukrainian military personnel surrendering. A group of Russian occupiers shot unarmed service members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This incident took place in the direction of Avdiivka.
Human Rights Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets said he would appeal to the Red Cross and the UN. The Strategic Communications Department of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that Russian terrorists shot two unarmed Ukrainian defenders.
The Prosecutor General's Office initiated an investigation into the shooting of two Ukrainian military personnel by Russian occupiers in the Donetsk region. The tragedy occurred in the village of Stepove in the Pokrovsk district of the Donetsk region.
Yesterday, the head of the Avdiivka city military administration, Vitaliy Barabash, reported that the Russian occupiers who executed two Ukrainian military personnel have been eliminated.
