Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed shooting of Ukrainian prisoners of war
Ukrainian authorities have confirmed media reports about the execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war, according to the Telegram channel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Strategic Communications Department (Stratkom ZSU).
"The Russian Federation has once again violated the laws and customs of war, as well as norms of international law. The media has depicted the execution of two prisoners of war from the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to verified information, Russian occupiers have once again ruthlessly executed unarmed soldiers," stated the channel.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have called on the international community to react and hold the military leadership of Russia accountable.
"We urge the international community to condemn the actions of Russia and hold the military leadership of the aggressor country accountable," stated the channel.

Earlier, we reported on the emergence of a video depicting Russian military personnel killing Ukrainian prisoners of war.
Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, stated that the incident constitutes a violation of international law and an act of terrorism. He announced his intention to address the Red Cross and the United Nations regarding the matter.
Russian forces have previously been implicated in the killing of captured Ukrainian military personnel, with similar incidents occurring in April 2023. At that time, Andriy Yermak, the Head of the Office of the President, declared on his Telegram channel that there would be accountability for such actions.
In another incident on March 6, a video surfaced showing Russians shooting a captured Ukrainian military personnel after he uttered the words Glory to Ukraine. The individual was identified as Oleksandr Matsiyevsky. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy awarded him the title of Hero of Ukraine in response to the incident.
