Apple plans a major product update in 2026, with new iPhones, iPads, and Mac models. Two entirely new devices attract special attention, potentially proving Apple’s principle again: not first, but the best, according to 9to5Mac.
New devices years after competitors
Among all expected 2026 announcements, two products stand out:
- iPhone Fold (or iPhone Ultra);
- Apple Glasses;
Rumors about a foldable iPhone have been circulating for years. Samsung unveiled its first foldable smartphone back in 2019, increasing anticipation for an Apple version. According to sources, the iPhone Fold could finally debut in 2026.

Apple glasses also have a long history of leaks. The company has long hinted at interest in smart glasses as a new wearable device. Previously, it was assumed these would be AR glasses, with the Vision Pro headset seen as an intermediate step.
However, according to the latest information, in the first stage, Apple will focus not on augmented reality, but on AI-powered glasses.
In both cases, Apple may again follow its strategy of entering the market later than competitors but with a more refined product.
Rumor has it that iPhone Fold will feature a design without a noticeable crease on the screen, premium materials in the spirit of iPhone Air (including titanium), and special multitasking enhancements in iOS 27.
Apple Glasses, for their part, will be closely integrated with the iPhone and Apple ecosystem, feature an updated Siri with enhanced AI capabilities, and leverage the company’s developments in AirPods, chip miniaturization, and energy efficiency.

Chances of success
There are no guarantees that Apple will outperform competitors like Samsung, Google, or Meta. However, the markets for foldable smartphones and smart glasses remain niche. Even with an advantage over other players, they are still far from mass adoption.
If Apple manages to realize its ambitions and deliver truly flawless products, iPhone Fold and Apple Glasses could be the devices that make these categories mainstream.
