Apple's relief on the horizon? Trump lifts tariffs on key tech products

Smartphones, computers, and chips have been exempted from new import tariffs in the US. This exception was made despite the general increase in tariffs on Chinese products, informs CNBC.
According to new guidelines from the US Customs and Border Protection, smartphones and computers will be exempt from the reciprocal tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump.
These guidelines were issued after President Trump introduced a 145% tariff on Chinese goods earlier this month. This move could affect tech companies such as Apple, which manufactures most of its products in China.
US import tariffs
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt previously stated that, in President Trump's opinion, iPhone production could be relocated to the US.
However, after the US imposed additional tariffs on imports from more than 180 countries, it was found that the cost of iPhones could increase by 30-40%.
Beijing immediately called on the US to cancel its decision after raising tariffs and imposing corresponding tariffs in response. This move did not sit well with US President Donald Trump. As a result, the American leader raised tariffs against China several more times. As of now, they stand at 145%.
In response to these actions, Apple recently shipped 600 tons of iPhones from India to bypass the new tariffs.
Notably, Western media recently reported that the US may be without Christmas trees and decorations this holiday season due to the tariff war with China.
Additionally, reports have indicated that Americans may be without new Jaguars due to Trump's tariffs.
