Apple officially reveals date for iPhone 16 presentation: What new features to be introduced
Apple has officially announced its annual event dedicated to the iPhone. It will take place on Monday, September 9, at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, according to the website MacRumors, which specializes in news, rumors, and information related to Apple products.
The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM (9:00 PM Kyiv time), and select media representatives have been invited to attend.
What Apple will unveil at the event
This year, Apple is set to introduce the iPhone 16 lineup, new models of the Apple Watch, and the AirPods 4 at the event. We will also receive official release dates for iOS 18, macOS Sequoia, and other Apple software updates.
All four new iPhones are expected to feature a customizable action button and a new capture button for photography, which will support built-in gestures like pinch-to-zoom or a light press for autofocus. The capture button will be located on the right side of the device, beneath the power button.
Additionally, Apple is integrating the A18 chip into all models, enabling the entire iPhone 16 lineup to support Apple Intelligence features, which will be introduced with iOS 18.

For the standard iPhone 16 models, no other major innovations are expected. However, the Pro lineup will see an increase in display sizes from 6.1 and 6.7 inches to 6.3 and 6.9 inches for the Pro and Pro Max, respectively. Both models will also feature a 5x telephoto lens, which was exclusive to the Pro Max last year.
The standard Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to have a slimmer design with a larger display, though it won't be a drastic change. Apple is also planning to update the Apple Watch SE and Apple Watch Ultra, potentially introducing new health features like sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring. It's still uncertain whether Apple will be able to prepare these for launch this year.
As for the AirPods 4, two models are anticipated: one that directly succeeds the current AirPods 3, and a more advanced version with active noise cancellation at a price below the Pro.
Apple plans to live-stream the fall event on its website, YouTube, and through the Apple TV app.
