Apple is undertaking development in completely new field for itself: What is known
Apple began developing home robots in the early stages after discontinuing work on its car project earlier this year, informs Bloomberg.
Main ideas regarding robot creation
One direction involves creating a robot capable of assisting the user around the house and performing various tasks. Another idea involves developing a mobile device with a display similar to an iPad, which the user will use for interaction.
Both of these concepts are in the early stages of research. This is happening in the context of increasing pressure within the company. Apple is seeking the next breakthrough product that can drive revenue growth.
Previously, the company considered the possibility of developing electric cars as such a product. However, this idea was rejected.
Apple has also introduced its own mixed reality glasses, but significant profit from them requires time. Therefore, the tech giant is exploring new opportunities for innovation.

Who is responsible for creating robots
Two major departments within Apple are responsible for developing home robots: the hardware group and the artificial intelligence and machine learning group. Ideas for creating smart home devices in previous years have emerged from these departments.
However, these ideas have remained abstractions so far and have not taken concrete forms. Executives at various levels have expressed skepticism about the prospects of developing such devices.
With growing interest in smart homes and expanding applications of artificial intelligence, Apple sees the potential to make personal robots attractive products.
Prospects of the new development
However, it is difficult to imagine that they will achieve the same commercial success as the iPhone, which accounted for 52 percent of the company's total sales volume last year.
If Apple decides to develop personal robots, it will not be the first time the corporation enters this area. In 2021, Amazon introduced its home robot Astro, which is currently available for $1,600, but it has not gained widespread adoption.

It is worth noting that Apple is in talks with a well-known corporation about implementing AI into its smartphones.
