"During the day, 8 Ukrainian citizens were evacuated from Gaza to Egypt, while 26 citizens were brought today by a charter flight from Egypt to Moldova. Our diplomats provided assistance in their relocation to Ukraine," Nikolienko shared.
According to him, during the first stage of evacuation, Ukraine managed to evacuate 259 individuals from the Gaza Strip.
The spokesperson emphasizes Ukraine's gratitude to Egypt, Israel, Qatar, and other partners for their support in the evacuation efforts.
He also adds that the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the special control of Minister Dmytro Kuleba, continues its efforts to assist Ukrainians in the Gaza Strip.
Evacuation from the Gaza Strip
Hamas militants attacked Israel on October 7. Following this, the Israel Defense Forces launched an operation against the terrorists. The Gaza Strip was completely sealed off, and no one could leave from there.
On November 8, Ukraine succeeded in evacuating the first group of its citizens—43 individuals.
Subsequently, the evacuation continued. There is information about over 300 Ukrainians who were in the Palestinian enclave until November 8.
