Another country joins Ukrainian Armed Forces exercises: Information kept in secret
Training for the first group of Ukrainian soldiers in North Macedonia has concluded. Information about the training was confidential for security reasons, and training for the Armed Forces of Ukraine will continue, according to North Macedonian Defense Minister Slavjanka Petrovska.
According to the Defense Minister, the training occurred at facilities owned by the North Macedonian army. In particular, the country will continue to train Ukrainian military personnel throughout 2024 and "for as long as there is a need for it."
At the same time, the minister did not disclose the training the Ukrainian military underwent or will undergo in this course or how many soldiers have completed or will complete this training.
North Macedonia became the second Balkan country after Romania to offer bases on its territory for the training of Ukrainian soldiers. Bucharest, in turn, offered the use of its bases since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. In November, the country also opened a training center for Ukrainian pilots who will learn to fly F-16 fighter jets.
Previously, it was reported in August that North Macedonia became the 15th country to support security guarantees for Ukraine. In March of this year, Skopje decided to transfer Mi-24 helicopters to our soldiers free of charge.
