Andrii Matiukha on the Foundation's work: supporting veterans, humanitarian aid, and hospitals

The Andrii Matiukha Foundation focuses on supporting military personnel and veterans, equipping hospitals with modern medical equipment, advancing prosthetic technology, and assisting civilians.
An important area of activity also includes international projects that strengthen Ukraine's cooperation with the world and expand the Foundation's reach.
Ye Protez — service that supports people after amputations
The Andrii Matiukha Foundation supported the development of the online hub Ye-Protez. This service combines all the necessary stages of post-amputation assistance: from consultations with specialists and prosthesis selection to funding and rehabilitation. Users can find clinics, receive advice, and participate in support programs.
Development began in 2024. The first step was a pilot version that included a knowledge base, a website, and a Telegram bot. Later, the team scaled the project into a full-fledged application with the possibility of integrating government services and partner programs.
The uniqueness of the Ye-Protez hib lies in its modern approach. Artificial intelligence has been integrated into the chatbot, the knowledge base is constantly updated, and user feedback serves as the foundation for improvements. The Andrii Matiukha Foundation emphasizes that the service will continue to operate even after the war ends, as the need for such support will remain.
The team plans to engage at least 5,000 users and guide half of them from the initial consultation to prosthesis fitting.
Andrii Matiukha Foundation supports the Protecting Ukrenergo Repair Crews Program
As part of the Protecting Ukrenergo Repair Crews initiative, technical staff and repair teams undergo first aid training. A total of 75 training sessions are planned, involving approximately 1,500 company employees.
The sessions cover basic but life-saving skills: stopping severe bleeding, correctly applying tourniquets, performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and conducting primary assessments of victims.
Today, Ukraine's energy system is under daily threat. Over 63,000 facilities have been destroyed, at least 160 employees have died, and more than 300 were injured. The support provided by the Andrii Matiukha Foundation enables repair workers to acquire knowledge that helps save lives while working on high-voltage lines and substations under war conditions.
Andrii Matiukha Foundation contributes to supporting a children's hospital
One of the Foundation's key areas of activity is supporting Ukrainian medical institutions. In 2025, the urgent surgery department of Okhmatdyt received Ligasure Maryland and Ligasure Exact instruments with nanocoating. Thanks to these technologies, doctors can perform laparoscopic and open surgeries with reduced risks for young patients.
Annually, the hospital performs around 800 complex surgical procedures. Within just a few months after the new instruments were delivered, over 60 operations were conducted, confirming their effectiveness in daily practice.
The support provided by the Andrii Matiukha Foundation goes beyond this contribution. Previously, the hospital received the advanced Thompson system for open surgeries. Using this equipment, surgeons were able to perform more than a hundred procedures. Today, it is considered indispensable for handling the most complex cases.
Buy a Lot initiative: Sports and charity for children
In Kyiv, the charity auction Buy a Lot took place with the support of the Andrii Matiukha Foundation, organized by FC Dynamo, the Ukrainian Journalists' Team, and the news agency News Center. The funds raised are intended for creating an inclusive sports playground in Zhytomyr, planned to be located within the rehabilitation and palliative care center for children.
Thanks to the involvement of philanthropists, valuable lots from well-known athletes were auctioned, attracting a wide audience.
The special significance of this project is that combining sports and charity creates additional value. By supporting initiatives like this, the Andrii Matiukha Foundation helps open new opportunities for thousands of children.
Origami for Ukraine: Power of art to support Ukrainian soldiers
In spring 2025, a unique installation of 5,000 metallic birds appeared on the facade of the Kyiv Museum. The idea was conceived by Belgian designer Charles Kaisin, with Ukrainian schoolchildren assisting in its creation. The project’s clear goal is to raise funds for the rehabilitation of wounded military personnel.
Anyone can join the initiative by making a donation or purchasing a symbolic bird for 10 euros. Over 50,000 euros have already been raised, directed to the Kyiv Rehabilitation Center.
Systematic work of Andrii Matiukha Foundation with a vision for the future
All the Foundation's initiatives are aimed at creating long-term change and developing new approaches to assistance.
The main focus areas include supporting and rehabilitating veterans, strengthening national defense, and implementing humanitarian programs in medicine, culture, education, and science. International projects also play a key role in expanding Ukraine’s cooperation with the world.
"Assistance should lay the foundation for the future. The Foundation has all the resources to think far ahead and act systematically," emphasizes Andrii Matiukha.
