On the morning of Monday, July 7, a fire broke out at an ammunition storage site in the Mykolaiv region. There is occasional detonation occurring there, the Southern Ukraine's Defense Forces report.

According to the Ukrainian military, the incident happened around 10:00 a.m. local time in one of the communities of the Mykolaiv region. The cause of the fire is currently being clarified, but preliminary information indicates it is not related to enemy shelling.

The fire likely started due to burning dry grass. Occasional detonation are occurring there. Units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine are working at the scene and making every effort to extinguish the fire; the ignition area has been localized.

"The warehouse is located outside populated areas. There is no threat to the local population, but we ask everyone to remain in a safe place," the statement says.

The military command has established a commission to conduct a detailed investigation of the incident.

Attack on Mykolaiv

Earlier, Mykolaiv was attacked by Shahed drones. According to the Head of the Regional Military Administration, Vitalii Kim, emergency services were dispatched to the impact sites promptly after calls were received in the city. At that time, there was one injured person.

The Mayor of Mykolaiv, Oleksandr Sienkevych, confirmed that as a result of the strike on the city, damage to civilian infrastructure was recorded. Services are working to eliminate the consequences.
