Amid air defense sounds: Zelenskyy has 'conference call' with military and law enforcers
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a strategic meeting with military and security officials on Friday, August 11th, according to a video address by the head of state.
"In the morning we had a conference call. Military, intelligence, government officials. The conversation was accompanied by the sounds of air defense in the Kyiv region. There were reports by commanders and ministers," Zelenskyy said.
According to him representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported on the situation in the regions, the aftermath of Russian strikes, and the work of the State Emergency Service.
"I am grateful to all Ukrainian rescuers! The Minister of Strategic Industries reported on the production of munitions and equipment in Ukraine. We are increasing in the volume. Constantly increasing," the president stated.
He added that representatives of the Security Service of Ukraine informed him about the "good work" against collaborators.
Frontline situation
According to the latest data from the General Staff, the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to advance in the Melitopol and Berdyansk directions, consolidating their positions at achieved frontlines, and implementing counter-battery measures. A total of 34 combat clashes occurred in the past day.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attempting to secure positions near Urozhaine, while the Russians continue to actively attack in the Kupiansk direction.
