American filmmaker injured as balcony crashes down in heart of Kyiv (video)

A balcony fell on a well-known filmmaker and journalist covering the war Christopher Walters in Kyiv's city center. He was injured and outraged by the situation.
Walters filmed a video right at the scene. He did not hide that he was unpleasantly shocked. The filmmaker plans to find out who is to blame for such dangerous sites in the center of Kyiv.
“In the center of the capital, balconies fall like this... The balcony under which people walk to the entrance. At a time when missiles and drones are flying, we are being injured by balconies because of someone's irresponsibility!” the journalist wrote in Ukrainian and tagged Kyiv mayor Vitali Klitschko's page under the video.
Response from Kyiv City Military Administration
The head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Tymur Tkachenko, commented on the incident. He confirmed that it happened in the Podil district.
“In the Podil district, a balcony fell on a US citizen who came to Ukraine to document the war. Right in front of the entrance to the apartment building. The man was injured,” he wrote on Telegram.
“This is not an enemy attack, but the result of years of inaction. I have urgently instructed the newly appointed head of the Podil district state administration, Volodymyr Nakonechnyi, to keep in touch with the victim, to take the situation under his personal control, and to inspect all the facades for danger,” he added.
Tkachenko also wrote that the director is being provided with assistance. And then “there will be a serious talk with the district management companies.”
