Air forces reveal locations of overnight Shahed drone takedowns
During the repulsion of the Russian invaders' aerial attack using combat drones of the Shahed type in Ukraine tonight, the Air Defense Forces of the Armed Forces worked in five regions, according to the Air Force command of the Armed Forces in Telegram.
Military officials noted that during the night of December 24, the occupiers attacked with 15 Shahed drones launched from the area of Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia).
"As a result of the anti-aircraft battle by the forces and means of the Air Forces and Defense Forces of Ukraine, 14 Shahed drones were destroyed within the territories of the Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Khmelnytskyi regions," the publication states.
As clarified by the head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration Vitaliy Kim on his Telegram early in the morning, during the night of December 24, four Shahed drones were destroyed in the Mykolaiv region by the forces and means of air defense.
It is worth noting that in the morning summary of the General Staff, it was reported today that the occupiers launched 16 Shahed drones, and 15 of them were shot down.
Shahed attacks on Ukraine
Russian occupiers regularly use Shahed kamikaze drones in attempts to strike at populated areas in Ukraine.
For instance, after midnight, the Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration reported the operation of air defense systems against enemy attack UAVs detected in the region. Additionally, explosions were reported in Zaporizhzhia on the evening of December 23. The Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine then reported the movement of enemy drones towards the region.
On Saturday, the Russians used 9 kamikaze drones for attacks on the Dnipropetrovsk region and fired about a dozen artillery shells.
