On the night of June 24, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine using 101 strike drones. Ukrainian air defense forces managed to intercept nearly all of the incoming UAVs, although several strikes were recorded, the Ukrainian Air Force reports.

Russian forces launched 101 attack drones, including Shahed UAVs (some jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy drones. The drones were launched from the directions of Oryol, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, occupied Donetsk, and Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.

The aerial assault was repelled by aviation units, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of Ukraine's Defense Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m., Ukrainian air defenses had shot down or suppressed 95 enemy drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and other UAV types, across northern, southern, and eastern regions of the country.

Six strike drones hit targets at five locations, while debris from downed drones fell at six additional sites.

"The attack is ongoing. Enemy drones remain in Ukrainian airspace. Follow all safety guidelines," the Air Force warned.

Russian attacks on Ukraine

As a reminder, on the night of June 22-23, Russia attacked Ukraine with 135 strike drones, including Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya decoy UAVs.

Ukrainian air defenses managed to destroy most of the drones.

However, 13 attack drones still reached their targets, with impacts recorded at 11 locations. Debris from intercepted drones fell at three other sites.

Among the targets was the city of Zaporizhzhia, where two residents were injured. A private home, an auto repair shop, and a gas station were damaged.
