On the night of February 12, Ukraine's air defense shot down six Iskander-M ballistic missiles over Kyiv. The attack resulted in damage and casualties, Tymur Tkachenko, Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration reports.

"According to the Air Force report, today, our air defense units destroyed six Russian Iskander-M ballistic missiles over the capital. This is dangerous weaponry, not easy to eliminate. Even falling debris can cause significant damage," Tkachenko said.

The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration noted that the attack caused damage to residential buildings, office buildings, and non-residential infrastructure in the Holosiivskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Obolonskyi, Dniprovskyi, and Pecherskyi districts.

As of 10:00 a.m. Kyiv time, the fires in Kyiv were either extinguished or localized.

Information about debris and damage in the Podilskyi and Solomianskyi districts, as well as certain locations in the Holosiivskyi district, has not been confirmed.

According to Tkachenko, as a result of the attack, a Kyiv resident born in 1985 was killed. In addition, four residents of the capital were injured, including a nine-year-old child. All the victims are receiving qualified medical assistance.

The Prosecutor's Office confirmed the death of the 1985-born man in the Obolonskyi district.

Law enforcement clarified that the enemy's attack caused a fire in a business center in the Obolonskyi district and at warehouses in the Holosiivskyi district of Kyiv. There was also a fire on the roof of a building in the Sviatoshynskyi district. Several parked cars in the courtyards of these buildings were damaged.

The Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the war crime that caused the death of a person (Article 438, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

Consequences of Russian attack on Ukraine

On the night of February 12, Russian troops launched seven ballistic missiles and 123 drones at Ukraine. The air defense forces shot down six missiles and 71 drones. Another 40 enemy decoy drones were lost locally.

As the reports indicate, the Russian army attacked Kyiv and Kryvyi Rih with missiles. In the capital, a man was killed during the strike. In Kryvyi Rih, gas stations, buildings, and infrastructure were affected.

There were also damages recorded in the Kyiv region, and in the Mykolaiv region, a critical infrastructure object caught fire due to falling debris.

In addition, the Russians struck with a drone at a critical infrastructure facility in the Chernihiv region, resulting in a fire and injuries.
