Air defense forces destroy 17 more Russian drones since night attack
Ukraine's air defense forces destroyed 17 strike drones, with a total of 68 enemy UAVs shot down overnight, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Additionally, recent reports indicate that four more drones were lost due to location tracking issues.
As of 1:00 PM Kyiv time, no strike drones were detected in Ukrainian airspace.
In total, since the night of October 16, out of 136 launched Russian drones:
- 68 were shot down,
- 64 were lost from radar,
- 2 returned to Russia,
- 2 hit their targets.
Russian night attack on Ukraine
On the night of October 16, Russian forces launched 136 kamikaze drones against Ukraine. Air defense systems were in operation for more than 12 hours, with drones being downed until 1:00 PM Kyiv time.
The occupiers also struck the Donetsk region with an S-300 surface-to-air missile and the Chernihiv region with a Kh-59 guided aviation missile.
In the Ternopil region, an industrial facility was attacked and caught fire.
