Aftermath of Shahed attack on Kyiv: Fires, destruction and casualties reported
In Kyiv, debris from enemy drones has been reported to have fallen in several districts, including Pecherskyi, following a drone attack overnight. This resulted in fires in residential buildings and partial structural damage, with reports of casualties.
According to the latest information from the city authorities, fragments of Russian drones have fallen in five districts of Kyiv: Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi, Solomianskyi, Obolonskyi, and Podilskyi.
As of now, one person has been reported injured and has been hospitalized.
Overall, in Kyiv, as a result of the Russian drone attack, buildings were damaged in five districts.
Holosiivskyi district
The fall of fragments from Russian drones in this area was first reported around 2 a.m. Kyiv time.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko shared that the shockwave from the explosion damaged windows in several apartments of a residential building. Additionally, garages caught fire, and a fire broke out at a nearby service station.
A fire covering an area of 200 square meters has been extinguished.
According to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko, there was significant damage to an apartment in a residential building.
Later, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that a residential apartment in a building on Holosiivskyi had been damaged, though no fire occurred. Additionally, one person sought medical assistance.
Additionally, the Kyiv City Military Administration clarified that there was a fire at a restaurant on the 33rd floor of a residential building in the Pecherskyi district.
The KCMA also released footage of the aftermath of the Russian airstrike in the Holosiivskyi district.
Pecherskyi district
Around 4:30 a.m. Kyiv time, it was reported that in the Pecherskyi district, the upper floors of a high-rise building were on fire due to the fall of fragments from Russian drones. An evacuation of residents was initiated from the building, where the fire broke out as a result of the enemy drone attack.
According to the State Emergency Service (SES), the fire occurred on the 33rd floor of the residential building, causing partial destruction of the building's structures on the 34th (technical) floor.
As of the latest update, the fire, covering an area of 50 square meters, has been extinguished.

Solomianskyi district
According to the Kyiv City Military Administration, the debris from Shahed drones fell onto the grounds of an industrial enterprise. The city authorities later clarified that the drone fragments fell into the yard of a private house, causing a fire in an open area.
However, it was later reported that in the Solomianskyi district, the debris fell onto the grounds of a private medical center. A fire broke out there, and evacuation efforts are underway.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, one person was hospitalized in the industrial enterprise area.
According to updated information from the State Emergency Service (SES), a fire occurred in a warehouse building covering 600 square meters, with the flames spreading to the roof area of 50 square meters. Efforts to localize the fire are still ongoing.
Additionally, in the Solomianskyi district, a car fire and a fire in a single-story auxiliary building were reported, and the blaze has been extinguished.
As for the medical center, the fire was located on the first floor of a three-story building, covering an area of 20 square meters, and the fire had already been extinguished.
Obolonskyi district
In the Kyiv Obolonskyi district, according to preliminary reports, a fire broke out on the top floor of a business center due to the falling debris of Russian drones.
There were no casualties.
Podilskyi district
According to city authorities, a fire broke out in a two-story private house in this district.
Shahed attack on Kyiv
Last night, Russian forces launched kamikaze drones at Ukraine. Shahed drones were reportedly heading toward the capital as well. After midnight, an air raid alert was declared in Kyiv.
Later, it became known that air defense systems were active in Kyiv, and a series of explosions could be heard.
