The body of a person was found while clearing the rubble of a damaged apartment building in Odesa. The building was damaged in a Russian attack overnight on September 12, according to Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper.

During the clearing of the rubble of the damaged apartment building, rescuers found the body of a man born in 1992. Emergency search and rescue operations are ongoing at the site.

What is known about the attack

The strike on Odesa occurred overnight on September 12. Around 5 a.m. Kyiv time, the Air Force warned of launches of Kalibr cruise missiles from the Black Sea and a ballistic missile threat from Crimea.

The attack significantly damaged a multi-story residential building. The number of casualties increased throughout the day — according to the latest data, 37 people were injured, including a five-month-old child.

Emergency services are working at the site, and an operational headquarters has been set up to assist those affected.

Earlier, it was reported that the whereabouts of two people remained unknown. Search operations at the site are ongoing.
