Aftermath of Russian drone strike on Chornobyl NPP sarcophagus: Photos revealed

On the night of Friday, February 14, the Russian army attacked the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) with a drone. The sarcophagus of the destroyed 4th power unit of the plant was damaged, Andriy Yermak, Head of the Presidential Office of Ukraine reports.
Published photos show a large hole in the roof of the sarcophagus, as well as destruction inside.
"About the drone attack on Chornobyl NPP. This is further evidence that Russia is a threat to the entire world. Putin’s military deliberately targeted Chornobyl NPP at night," Yermak wrote under the photos.
The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) also released photos showing the aftermath of the strike on the Chornobyl NPP sarcophagus. They clarified that the incident occurred around 01:50 local time.
"During the night of February 13-14, at around 01:50, the IAEA team at the Chornobyl site heard an explosion coming from the New Safe Confinement (NSC), which protects the remains of reactor 4 of the former Chornobyl NPP, causing a fire. They were informed that a UAV had struck the NSC roof," the message stated.

This morning, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that a Russian strike drone with an explosive warhead hit the sarcophagus of the destroyed 4th power unit at the Chornobyl NPP.
"The shelter at the Chornobyl NPP was damaged by this drone. The fire has been extinguished. As of now, radiation levels have not increased and are being constantly monitored. According to initial assessments, the damage to the shelter is significant," Zelenskyy stated.
