After guided bomb strikes, Russian army hits Kharkiv with Chernika drone

On Thursday, July 24, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with a strike drone called Chernika. The enemy targeted the private residential sector, according to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov on Telegram.
According to him, the Russian army attacked the Industrialnyi district of Kharkiv with a drone.
"A strike occurred in the private residential sector. The consequences are being clarified," Terekhov added.
Chernika drone
Russia began using Chernika drones to strike Kharkiv only in June of this year.
It is known that there are two versions of these drones — the lighter Chernika-1 and the heavier Chernika-2.
The first variant is used against infantry and transport, while the second carries up to 3.5 kg of explosives, is capable of hitting fortifications and equipment, can fly up to 100 km, and is equipped with an autopilot, making interception more difficult.
According to Defense Express, the drone is made from inexpensive materials, can be launched by hand or catapult, and is produced in large quantities — thousands of units.

Two children and one woman are hospitalized in serious condition.
