After attack on Engels, Russians lose missiles, including Kh-101, says Ukrainian side

Missile stockpiles may have been destroyed in the strike on Russia’s Engels airfield, including Kh-101 cruise missiles, Andriy Kovalenko, Head of the Ukrainian Center for Countering Disinformation, reports.
"Due to the strike on Engels, the Russians lost missiles, including Kh-101. The exact number will become clear later," Kovalenko stated.
According to the Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation, Engels airfield holds the largest stockpile of missiles used by Russia’s strategic aviation for strikes on Ukraine.
Background information
The Kh-101 missile is a high-precision, long-range air-to-ground cruise missile. It is carried by Tu-95 strategic bombers. Its primary purpose is to destroy key targets at great distances, including strategic enemy sites.
Russia has been using these missiles for long-range strikes on Ukraine during large-scale attacks.
Attack on Engels
On the night of March 20, Russia was once again targeted by drone strikes, with hits reported in the city of Engels, Saratov region. According to Russia's Ministry of Defense, 132 drones were allegedly intercepted or destroyed, including 54 over the Saratov region.
Local authorities stated that this was the largest drone attack on Saratov and Engels since the start of the full-scale war.
Reports emerged online that the targets included the Saratov oil refinery and the area of Engels-2 airfield, with alleged strikes on a weapons depot at the airfield. Explosions were heard in the vicinity, and residents observed a large fire.
Engels is home to the Kristal facility, a base established to supply fuel for Russia’s strategic aviation. It has been one of the primary refueling points for Russian Tu-95 bombers during massive missile attacks on Ukraine.
