Abu Dhabi talks enter day two: Here's format

The second day of negotiations between the US, Ukraine, and Russia began today, February 5, in Abu Dhabi, according to the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and head of the Ukrainian delegation to the negotiations, Rustem Umerov.
"The second day of negotiations in Abu Dhabi has begun. We are working in the same formats as yesterday: trilateral consultations, group work, and further synchronization of positions," Umerov said.
Negotiations in Abu Dhabi on February 4-5
Yesterday, February 4, another round of trilateral negotiations involving the Ukrainian, American, and Russian sides began in Abu Dhabi. The discussions lasted about five hours, and today the negotiations continue.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council and head of the Ukrainian delegation, Rustem Umerov, said that after the main meeting, the work continued in separate groups.
The Ukrainian delegation also included:
- Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov
- Leader of the Servant of the People faction in the Ukrainian Parliament Davyd Arakhamia
- First Deputy Head of the Office of the President Sergiy Kyslytsya
- Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andrii Hnativ
- Deputy Head of the Defense Intelligence of Ukraine Vadym Skibitskyi
- Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President Oleksandr Bevz.
On the American side, the consultations were attended by:
- US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff
- Son-in-law of the US President Jared Kushner
- Commissioner of the Federal Procurement Service in the US General Services Administration Josh Greenbaum
- US Secretary of the Army Dan Driscoll
- Commander of the US European Command Alexus Grynkewich.
According to Umerov, Russia was represented at a high military level.
On February 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Russia's strikes on the energy sector demonstrate Moscow's unwillingness to negotiate, which is why the Ukrainian side's work will be adjusted.
Zelenskyy also stated that he expects peace to be achieved in the war with Russia in less than a year.
