In the Kharkiv region, two villages were hit by airstrikes during the night of May 28. As a result of drone attacks by Russians, eight people were injured, including a four-year-old child, according to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration.

According to the official, the drone strikes hit the village of Vasyshcheve in Kharkiv district (Bezliudivka territorial community) and the village of Eskhar in Chuhuiv district (Novopokrovka territorial community). In each of these settlements, four people were injured.

The head of the regional military administration explained that in Vasyshcheve, as a result of the UAV strikes, three men aged 51, 43, and 59, as well as a 4-year-old girl who "suffered an acute stress reaction," were injured.

Regarding the consequences of the shelling in Eskhar, a 63-year-old and an 80-year-old man, as well as women aged 63 and 71, were wounded in the Russian air attack.

"All the wounded are receiving the necessary medical assistance," added the head of the regional administration.

Kamikaze drone attack overnight

During the night, Russians once again launched strike drones against Ukraine. The Air Force reported that Russia used several groups of Shaheds for the attack, coming from both southern and northern directions.

Because of the Shahed threat, air raid alerts were announced in several regions.

Kharkiv online communities reported a series of explosions heard around the city of Kharkiv that night. They lasted about an hour (from roughly 12:30 to 1:30 AM Kyiv time).

Kharkiv mayor Igor Terekhov responded on his channel, explaining that "the sounds of explosions heard in Kharkiv came from the suburbs." He also noted that the threat of drone strikes remains relevant for the regional center.
