4. Sardinia, Italy: 15,000 euros
Tourist Sardinia also wants to attract new residents to rural towns. People who buy or renovate a house on an island with a population of less than 3000 inhabitants will receive a reward of 15,000 euros.
You will also need to become a permanent resident of Sardinia within 18 months of purchasing the property.
5. Puglia, Italy: 30,000 euros
If you move to the Italian region of Puglia with your family and buy real estate, the region will pay 30,000 euros. If a young family arrives and gives birth to a child, they will receive an additional 1000 euros.
To be eligible for this compensation, you need to buy a house and register it as your primary residence.
In summer, Puglia is hot, up to +30 degrees, even though the region is located on the coast. And in winter, the temperature rarely drops below 11 degrees.
6. Ireland: up to 84,000 euros
This country offers grants of up to 84,000 euros to those who are ready to buy and breathe new life into empty houses on picturesque islands. There are currently about 30 such islands with a total population of 3000 people.
Ireland is striving to revive these beautiful islands by attracting a young population - people who work remotely, digital nomads.
The only condition is that you have to be ready to buy and renovate a home on the island and live there for at least 10 years.
At the same time, the Irish government has promised to improve transportation, Internet coverage, and medical services as part of its investment in the development of the islands.
7. Albinen, Switzerland
The Swiss government has launched a program to attract new residents to the village of Albinen in the Swiss Alps.
Only 250 people live in Albinen, and the municipality is ready to pay families to move to resume population growth. The town is located on a mountain slope in the Valais canton.
Adults under 45 can receive up to 25,300 euros. An additional 11,500 euros for each child.
Prerequisites: residence in the village for at least 10 years. This program also allows you to go through a complex procedure for obtaining citizenship.
8. Antikythera, Greece: 500 euros per month
The authorities of the Greek island of Antikythera are offering to move to a picturesque town on an island in the Aegean Sea. Currently, only 45 permanent residents live there.
Everyone who comes to live in Antikythera is offered accommodation, food and a monthly payment of 500 euros for three years.
The island has a quiet rural life, incredibly beautiful beaches and the sea. It is located between Crete and the Peloponnese.
It can be reached by ferry from the neighboring island of Kythira or from the port of Kissamos in Crete. The island is provided with electricity and the Internet, but in winter it is a bit sad there - only one store is open.
