Russia has stepped up its offensive on the front lines amid improving weather conditions, but its losses are rising sharply. In just seven days, it has lost more than 8,000 soldiers, Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated.

"This week, we have observed attempts by Russian forces to intensify their attacks, taking advantage of more favorable weather. The only tangible result for the Russian army has been a rise in their casualties: over 8,000 killed or seriously wounded in just seven days," the statement said.

The president added that the Russian command has finally realized where their units are actually located on the front and how this differs from the official reports sent up the chain of command.

"Some of their brigade-level commanders have already been replaced as punishment for lying. However, this will not help the occupiers," Zelenskyy emphasized.

According to him, Ukrainian positions in the Donetsk region have not changed significantly over the past week. In the Kharkiv region and the border communities of the Sumy region, Russian forces have attempted to advance from the border, but Ukraine's Defense Forces have eliminated them.

"In the Oleksandrivka direction, our assault and airborne units continue active operations, and I'm grateful to every soldier. The accuracy of our deep strikes has been noted, and we have outlined further plans. Several new operations have been approved," President Zelenskyy said.

Spring-summer Russian offensive

Earlier reports indicated that Russian forces have intensified offensive actions along certain sections of the front in recent weeks, with a notable increase in attacks in the Zaporizhzhia direction.

At the same time, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy stated that the spring offensive campaign of Russia has already failed. According to him, Russian troops are now unable to advance with heavy equipment and are limited to small-scale infiltration attempts.
