Since the beginning of the day on August 19, there have been 78 combat clashes on the front line. Russian invaders continue to assault the positions of Ukrainian defenders on almost all fronts, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Enemy shelling

According to the General Staff, the border areas of the Sumy region are suffering from cynical airstrikes from Russian airspace. Today, the districts of the settlements of Khotin and Obukhivka were affected by bombings. Additionally, the Russian forces carried out an airstrike with multiple rocket launchers (MLRS) on Porozok.

Lyptsi in Kharkiv region were also subjected to enemy airstrikes.

Situation in the directions

In the Kharkiv direction, the Russian army made four unsuccessful attacks near Lyptsi and Vovchansk.

In the Kupiansk direction, there were eight combat clashes. The enemy advanced towards Torske, Hlushkivka, Makiivka, Stelmakhivka, and Kruhlyakivka. Currently, half of the attacks are ongoing.

The Russian forces also struck the Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi area twice with cluster munitions.

In the Lyman direction, the Russian army launched nine assaults on our defenders' positions. The enemy was most active from the direction of Ploshchanka.

In the Siversk direction, six combat clashes occurred throughout the day. The enemy advanced near Verkhniokamianske, Spirne, and Ivano-Dariivka. Three battles are still ongoing.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy conducted two assaults near Ivanivske and Andriivka. The battle near the latter is still ongoing.

In the Toretsk direction, Russia increased its attacks to nine, targeting near New York, Toretsk, Zalizne, and Nelipivka. Seven battles have ended, and two are still ongoing.

Additionally, the invaders carried out six airstrikes, dropping nine cluster munitions on Shcherbynivka, Nelipivka, and Toretsk.

In the Pokrovsk direction, the Russian army carried out attacks in the areas of Vozdvyzhivka, Novohrodivka, Zelenе Pole, Kalynove, Mykolaivka, Ptyche, Mykhailivka, Kamyshivka, and Myrolubivka.

The defense forces are holding off the Russian troops' assault and have repelled 24 attacks; five clashes are ongoing. Enemy losses in this direction are being clarified.

The enemy also carried out three airstrikes with unguided rockets on Oleksandropil.

In the Kurakhove direction, the invaders made five unsuccessful attacks near Nevelske and Kostiantynivka.

In the Vremivka direction, the enemy used aviation for strikes—three times hitting with unguided rockets in the area of the settlement of Makarivka. Additionally, they conducted three assault operations, attempting to advance from the direction of Volodymyrivka and Solodke, and attacked in the area of Vodiane.

Situation on the frontlines and Russian losses

According to the General Staff, on August 18, there were 145 combat clashes on the front line, indicating an intensification of hostilities in several directions.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has lost 600,000 military personnel. Over the past day, the losses of the invaders amounted to 1,120 military personnel.

Additionally, yesterday the Ukrainian Armed Forces destroyed 48 artillery systems, 15 armored personnel carriers, 48 artillery systems, and other enemy equipment.
