7 places you should never store bread
Bread is one of the most common foods on our table, but it gets stale quickly. Some places may seem ideal for storing bread, but in reality, they can make it spoil very quickly.
Worst places to store bread
Fridge
It is believed that bread can be stored in the refrigerator for longer, but it is not the best place for it. The low temperature helps to evaporate moisture from the product faster.
As a result, the bread loses its softness and becomes stale quite quickly. Another unpleasant process often occurs - bread molding; in this case, it is safer to throw away the entire loaf infected with spores.
Plastic bags without ventilation
Bread stored in plastic bags without ventilation holes can become moldy. The plastic does not allow air to pass through, so high humidity is created in the package, which promotes mold growth.
Sun or warm places
Sunlight and heat, such as from a stove, radiator, or refrigerator surface, can degrade the quality of bread. They accelerate the process of moisture evaporation from the bread and can make it drier. Keeping bread in warm conditions will also increase the risk of mold growth.
With a strong-odored food
Bread is a porous product, so it quickly absorbs odors from the environment. If bread is stored next to foods with a strong odor (such as garlic, onions, or fish), its flavor may change unpleasantly.
With other types of bread
Breads made from different types of flour should be stored separately. The reason is the difference in microflora, and one will always have a negative impact on the other. This will cause the bread to spoil quickly.

Closed containers without air circulation
If you choose to store your bread in a container or bread bin, make sure it has ventilation holes. In hermetically sealed containers, bread quickly becomes moist, which promotes the growth of bacteria and mold.
Warm rooms with high humidity
High humidity is not the best condition for storing bread as it can lead to rapid spoilage. High humidity promotes mold growth, and bread will quickly lose its freshness.
How to keep bread fresh
For optimal storage of bread, use a wooden or ceramic bread bin with ventilation holes. If you want to preserve bread for a long time, you can also freeze it at -18 degrees, which will keep it fresh for several weeks or even months.
You can also store bread in a bread bin, disinfecting it with vinegar from time to time, or in a linen cloth, paper bag, or multi-layer bag.
