How to make pumpkin lanterns
No Halloween is complete without pumpkin lanterns or Jack-o-lanterns. All you need is an ordinary pumpkin, a knife, and a little imagination. Cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth in the pumpkin, and place a candle or lamp inside.
To add originality, you can use different shapes of cutouts or decorate the pumpkin with paints and glitter.
How to make it:
- Cut out the top of the pumpkin to create an opening
- Use a spoon to remove the flesh and seeds
- Use a pencil to outline the face, then carefully cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth
- Place a candle or LED flashlight inside and your lantern is ready!
Tip: If carving a lantern seems too time-consuming, you can simply paint the pumpkin with acrylic paints. Black and white pumpkins look extremely impressive.

How to make paper ghosts and bats
Simple but effective decorations can be made from white and black paper. Cut out small ghosts from white paper, add eyes and mouths to them, and then hang them from the ceiling or chandelier with strings.
Make bats out of black paper and attach them to walls or windows. They will create the atmosphere of an old castle inhabited by otherworldly creatures.
How to do it:
- Cut out several ovals from white paper or a bat shape from black cardboard
- Draw eyes and mouths with a black marker
- Hang them from the ceiling or doorway with strings.
Tip: Use reflective or fluorescent paints to make your ghosts and bats glow in the dark.

How to do it:
- Take cotton wool or synthetic material and gently stretch it to create thin threads.
- Attach the web to the corners of the room, shelves, doors, or chandeliers.
- Add a few plastic spiders for a realistic effect.
Tip: Use lights (for example, battery-powered flashlights) to make the spider web have an ominous shine in the dark.

How to create:
- Cut out spooky silhouettes from black cardboard, such as ghosts, witches, bats, or skeletons
- Glue the silhouettes inside or outside the jar
- Place a candle or LED bulb inside
- Close the lid or leave it open and your lanterns are ready to use.
