54 combat engagements recorded since beginning of day: General Staff describes situation on front
Today, June 5, 54 combat engagements have been recorded since the beginning of the day. The highest enemy activity is reported in the Pokrovsk direction and in the Kharkiv region, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraineю
Situation in the directions
In the Kharkiv direction, two enemy attacks towards the village of Lyptsi have been repelled. Currently, three clashes are ongoing in the vicinity of Vovchansk.
In the Kupiansk direction, the intensity of the Russian assault actions has increased. Seven times the enemy attacked the positions of the Defense Forces near Synkivka, Stepova Novoselivka, Stelmakhivka, Cherneshchyna, and Druzheliubivka. Currently, two battles are ongoing.
In the Siversk direction, the Russian troops attempted to storm in the areas of Verkhniokamianske, Vyiimka, and Rozdolivka. The number of clashes has increased to 5. Three attacks by our soldiers have been successfully repelled, while two, in the direction of Rozdolivka, are still ongoing.
In the Kramatorsk direction, seven attacks near Ivanivske, Klishchiivka, and Andriivka have been repelled. A battle near Bila Hora is still ongoing.
In the Pokrovsk direction, the enemy is particularly active. Fifteen clashes have occurred so far. Seven of them are still ongoing near Novooleksandrivka, Yevhenivka, Novopokrovske and Sokol. The Russian forces are intensifying their efforts near Sokol. Currently, the battle continues in four locations, and the Russian army has also dropped two aerial bombs.
In the Vremivka direction, three clashes are ongoing towards Urozhaine. Another attack there has already been repelled.
Frontline situation
On the frontlines, according to analysts from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the enemy has recently advanced near Vovchansk; however, their offensive operations have slowed down.
Also, during the past day, June 4th, according to the General Staff data, Defense Forces eliminated another 1280 Russian soldiers.
