"It's moving along rapidly. Nobody can believe the success we're having, 48 leaders are gone in one shot. And it's moving along rapidly," the US leader said.

In a separate interview with CNBC News, Trump said the US operation is moving "very well" and "ahead of schedule."

"It's a very violent regime, one of the most violent regimes in history. We're doing our job not just for us but for the world. And everything is ahead of schedule," he added.

The president noted that had the United States not launched the operation, Iran could have acquired nuclear weapons within two weeks, making it impossible for Washington to achieve its current objectives.

Regarding concerns about rising oil prices, Trump said he is unconcerned and is simply doing what is correct.

Middle East hostilities

On Saturday, February 28, Israel, in coordination with the United States, launched another attack on Iran.

US President Donald Trump addressed the nation, stating that Washington had begun a military campaign to eliminate threats from the Iranian regime, with the primary goal of protecting the American people and allies.

Later that day, Trump explained that the decision followed the failure of recent nuclear agreement talks and Tehran's behavior over recent decades.

In the early hours of March 1, it was officially confirmed that the US-Israeli strikes on February 28 killed Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Iran emergently appointed a new Supreme Leader. Several other high-ranking officials were also killed in the strikes.

In addition, the US President said that Iran has expressed a desire to resume talks. He said he is willing to engage in dialogue, but did not specify when the contact would occur.
